About This Show

Meet musical comedy’s first feminist in this uproariously funny operetta (also known as Castle Adamant) based on Tennyson’s renowned poem “The Princess.” Although Princess Ida was promised to Prince Hilarion in infancy, she grew to swear off men – and opened an all women’s college to prove her point. When Hilarion hatches a plot to infiltrate the college, a full-on battle of the sexes ensues. Now it will take a lot of manly machinations, from cross-dressing to pseudo striptease, to persuade this princess that men aren’t useless.
