About the Show
At the start of the show, something has happened to Mr. Joy, a Chinese-American who has run a shoe-repair shop in Harlem for decades. Through Beaty’s signature style of multi-character storytelling, Mr. Joy’s customers and others discover the nature of the incident, and realize the impact he has had on their lives and their changing community
