Judith Shakespeare Company celebrates its fifth anniversary season with Julius Caesar. Part of JSC’s Festival 2000, this production is notable for its complete gender-reversed casting: women play the men’s roles, and vice versa. That coupled with the production’s contemporary setting for the play’s action offer a fresh and provocative look at the power and influence of gender when the central figures in Shakespeare’s male-dominated play of politics and war are, in fact, women. Julius Caesar will play in repertory with JSC’s production of The Comedy of Errors
