Grandpa Was a Bachelor is a show about a family- A modern family with traditional problems. The family as an institution is rapidly changing in our fast paced world and the myth of the nuclear family with the traditional mother, father role and 2.5 children is becoming more and more unconventional.
How can these new families avoid the pitfalls of traditional ones? Aging, loneliness, rejection are unfortunately part of the human condition. Can any family (no matter how traditional or avant garde) put a modern spin on an age old problem- What is the purpose of life?
