About this show

Choreographer William Forsythe has taken another conceptual leap forward with Decreation. Inspired by an essay by renowned Canadian poet Anne Carson, it was among Forsythe's final works for the Ballett Frankfurt. Carson's text--dense with classical and philosophical allusions--delves into ideas about love, jealousy, and the journey of the soul towards God. Forsythe uses Carson's work as a starting point to explore in choreographic terms the poet's thesis of the dissolution of "self" in order to create space for something new.
