About this show

In Born of Conviction, playwright Kathryn Dickinson draws on biographical material from her childhood in 1960s Mississippi, where her minister father took a stand against racism. After being barred from a community church and receiving threatening messages at his home, he was compelled to take his family and leave the state. The play weaves modern day and flashback scenes fluidly as Kelly, the central character, struggles to come to grips with the traumatic events of her early childhood.
