New York City
BalletMet Columbus debuts in New York at The Joyce theater with three premieres created on the company: In Play, a segment from Stanton Welch’s Evolution, the dancers move to the beat of urban life and Moby’s music; James Kudelka’s Gazebo Dances reflects the youthful innocence and exuberance of American life in the late 1880s; and Deanna Carter’s nuevo Spanish rhythms define Colores de Alma.
Additionally, BalletMet Artistic Director Gerard Charles participates in a free discussion with the audience following the May 26 performance, as part of The Joyce Theater Humanities Series.
Appropriate for teenage audiences and above, or younger children if they have a mature understanding of ballet.
