Don’t miss the New York premiere of a totally new performance experience. Embodying the tension between motion and stillness, HELD juxtaposes Garry Stewart’s ballistic choreography with images by celebrated dance photographer Lois Greenfield, captured live in an extraordinary performance.
Using the dramatic explosions of flight and propulsion which are Stewart’s signature kamikaze style, Greenfield creates the illusion of weightlessness by freezing peak moments of the dance at 1/2000th of a second, projected instantaneously as she shoots. Be there as time stands still.
