Austin Pendleton directs Harold Pinter’s two person, full length play, Ashes to Ashes with Diane Love and Kevin O’Brien for a limited engagement at The Director’s Studio. When Ashes to Ashes opened in 1996 in London, Michael Billington of the Guardian raved, "an extraordinarily powerful work: elusive, mesmeric, disturbing." The play takes place in the pleasant living room of Rebecca and Devlin. Devlin unnerved by his wife’s allusions to an abusive lover asks for an explanation only to be drawn into her descriptions of what seem to be horrific historic events, never knowing what is fact and what is a figment of her imagination.
