About This Show

Falstaff was Verdi’s last opera–and a personal triumph, fulfilling his long-time ambition to write a comedy. This comic caper of disguises, cross-dressing, plots, and counterplots was adapted from Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor.

Jan Opalach portrays the lovable rogue opposite City Opera favorite Pamela Armstrong in a fun and rambunctious production.

Sung in Italian with English supertitles
A co-production with Glimmerglass Opera
