Hidden away in the Record Department of the sprawling Ministry of Truth, Winston Smith rewrites the past to suit the needs of The Party. He inwardly rebels against the regime that controls him and falls in love with fellow worker, Julia, a fully paid up member of The Party’s militant Anti-Sex League. But they soon discover that the ultimate casualty of torture is love, and the true price of freedom is betrayal. From the creative team at Godlight Theatre Company that produced A Clockwork Orange and The Third Man, comes a brutal new stage version of 1984.
