This Halloween, Southern Rep will officially kick of a late night series by presenting Live Theater Co.’s production of The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, an award-winning radio play of psychological terror penned by world famous audio dramatist Yuri Rasovky. Inspired by the 1920 German silent horror film Das Kabinet der Doktor Caligari by Hans Janowitz and Carl Meyer, the radio play will be read by a full cast, accompanied by live music, foley and sound effects, and played in front of footage from the original film. The show will be directed by J. Daniel Stanley, Southern Rep’s 2003-2004 Resident Artist.
Caligari will run Halloween week only on Tuesday, October 28 and Wednesday, October 29 at 11 p.m., and Thursday, October 30 though Saturday, November 1 at midnight.
