About This Show

In The Merry Wives of Windsor, Shakespeare lovingly lampoons the social prerogatives of middle and upper class Elizabethans. In the Princeton Rep Shakespeare Festival’s modernization directed by Artistic Director Victoria Liberatori, the locale moves from Windsor, England to West Windsor and Princeton, NJ. Contemporary audiences will find much to identify with in this hilariously topical story of resourceful women, insanely jealous husband and an overstuffed gigolo.

Marty Moss-Coane, NPR’s “Radio Times”, will be joining the cast by recording special voice-overs, which will feature topical issues of The Princetons and West Windsor written by John Timpane from NPR’s “Been There Done That” and Community Editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer. Every night another local politican, business owner, or writer from the Princetons and West Windsor will appear in the show to add some local color.
