New York City
Acclaimed New York director Jeff Cohen directs Princeton Rep Shakespeare Festival’s production of the Bard’s popular comedy, featuring David Greenspan as Bottom, Bradley Cole (of Guiding Light fame) as Theseus/Oberon, and Queen Esther as Hippolyta/Titania. Cohen frames this comic masterpiece in the world of 1940’s America. By contrasting the sexual repression of small-town America with the sexual expression of a Freudian dream, this production explores the fantasy, danger and romance of Shakespeare’s two worlds.
