About the Show

500 Clown Frankenstein is a show about three bumbling actor-clowns who are trying to put on a performance of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein. They run into trouble right from the start; just getting Dr. Frankenstein’s laboratory table set up properly seems to be an impossible, dangerous task. Malfunctioning costumes, poor lighting, tricky language, and a fight over who will play which role are some of the obstacles that keep getting in the way of telling the story. The comic mayhem takes a dark turn when one of the clowns is forced to play the creature. The result is a horror show of an entirely different sort than you might expect. Improvisation and audience participation are featured prominently in the performance, adding spontaneity and risk–not to mention increased hilarity.

It incorporates circus arts, improvisation, physical action, and lots of audience interaction.
