The Housekeeper

The Housekeeper is an old-fashioned, fast-paced comedy that’ll leave you laughing at the struggles of two flawed but lovable misfits. Manley Carstairs, an eccentric middle-aged bachelor and self-styled literary artist, has spent the last few years caring for his dear old mother. Now that mom has passed on, Manley sets out to hire a “charming little domestic, pretty and perky, agile and accommodating” to aid him in his concentration. Instead, he winds up with Annie Danworth, a middle-aged oddball who worms her way into his hermetically-sealed little world and turns it upside down. Hilarity ensues as their relationship moves from gleeful anticipation to murderous intent.
