About the Show

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey presents Hay Fever, back on the Main Stage for a 100th-anniversary celebration of Noel Coward’s witty play. Directed by Gabriel Barre, Hay Fever involves a recently retired actress who invites a young admirer to her country home for the weekend, to help assuage her boredom. She’s livid when she discovers that her husband, son, and daughter have–without consulting her–also invited weekend guests. The result is a maelstrom of stinging humor and outrageous behavior, as the self-absorbed and hilariously dysfunctional family members thrust their alarmed visitors into the midst of their edgy histrionics.

Additional performances Sundays, July 18 and 25 at 7:00 p.m. A special weekday matinee is offered on Wednesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m.
