About This Show

Set in Atlanta, Georgia during the peak of the civil rights
movement, Waiting to be Invited follows three middle-aged female co-workers from the local toy factory that ride the bus downtown to integrate the department store?s lunch counter. Together they must decide how far they are willing to go to obtain their civil liberties. St. Louis Black Repertory Company presents the Midwest premiere of this play by S.M. Shepard-Massat.
