Theater Mu, in association with the Southern Theater, presents Maui and the Soul of the Sun, a contemporary myth about the birth of the legendary Hawaiian demigod as he searches for his true identity. He takes on island warriors and ultimately the Sun in his quest for acceptance and understanding. Through hula-based movement and taiko drumming, this world premiere highlights the Maui stories as written by Marcus Vrilius Quiniones, who also performs his hula-based movement. Rick Shiomi directs.
