About This Show

This full-length evening of dance by one of the Twin Cities’ most interesting, dynamic choreographers, Robin Stiehm, features the wildly popular 2001 vignettes, In a Room, Gambling. This series, choreographed specifically for Eric Boone, is a humorous, sometimes dark, look at one of life’s greatest gambles-intimacy. Boone returns the favor in an intelligent, solo preimiere of rare sensitivity choreographed for Stiehm, a piece inspired by the poem Alone by Edgar Allen Poe. Stiehm also premieres a quintet for the entire company, set to the music of Johannes Brahms, a work that beautifully integrates seamless partnering, incisive gesture, and Steihm’s trademark space-eating physicality.
