How to Dig a Turnip is a Japanese folktale that dramatizes the need for cooperation to succeed. Camp participants will learn about puppetry and Asian culture during the week-long camp taught by Bits ‘N Pieces Puppet Theatre and Japanese puppet master Yoshio Hoshikawa, director of NyuDouGuMo Puppet Theatre, who has performed professionally in Japan for 50 years. These campers, who range in age from 6 to 14, also will explore Japanese language and music, and make puppets from Asia.
