Written by former Broadway dancer Kirsten Childs, The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin is a joyous new musical that follows a young African-American woman through three decades as she pursues her dream to become “the greatest dancing star in the world.” Leaving behind a sheltered childhood in sunny LA, Viveca “Bubbly” Stanton arrives in New York ready to take a bite out of the Big Apple, until bouts with racism, sexism and Broadway showbiz challenge her strong faith and sense of self.
