About the Show

A lady with a mirror, a man with a paint box, a lady with a hat box, and a man with old luggage… these are some of the characters in Dominick Argento’s Postcard from Morocco. This one-act opera explores the imaginations and psyches of a group of travelers carrying their true identities in their luggage. Like a scene from a postcard, a group of strangers gather at a train station to pursue their individual journeys through life. Conductor William Lumpkin and Stage Director Jim Petosa lead two casts of singers from the Boston University Opera Institute and School of Music Vocal Program.
