New York City
The Communication Arts Department of Eastern Nazarene College presents Guys and Dolls, the Tony Award winning musical, by the team of Frank Loesser, Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. A dazzling cabaret, fun loving gangsters, an unexpected romance and the bet of a lifetime are set against the secret New York City night life.
The show depicts the unlikely romance of high roller Sky Masterson and Save-A-Soul Sergeant, Sarah Brown. While Sarah seeks to save the souls of Times Square, Sky searches for the ultimate gamble. As their lives intersect, these two people from seemingly different worlds offer the ingredient for each other’s redemption. What starts as a simple bet for Sky, turns into a roller coaster ride of love and chance in 1940’s New York City. Fellow gambler Nathan Detroit and Adelaide, his long-suffering fiancee of fourteen years, are the comic counterpart in this New York love story. The show features exciting songs like “Luck Be a Lady,” “Bushel and a Peck,” “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat” and “Adelaide’s Lament.”
