CentAstage Productions and Wellsley Summer Theatre presents Ballast by Kathleen Rogers. Ballast is a mystical and dramatic play about a present day Irish
couple who have made it in America. After the disappearance of their
daughter, Jack and Deirdre Fallon have to stand fast in the onslaught of the police, the media and their own demons. Their relationship, which had been humorous and affectionate, stretches and shifts to the breaking point. The style of Ballast combines the realistic, the
fantastic, the conversational, and the poetic with flashes of black humor. Ballast deals with the way in which a distant historical event can continue to play itself out in the private lives of people today.
