About This Show

Based on the memoirs of Catalina De Erauso a 17th Century Spanish Joan of Arc who lived her life as a man and participated in the conquest of the Americas. Catalina de Erauso was both a lover and a nun, a soldier and a pirate, a Don Quixote and a gambler, a woman and a man. Catalina de Erauso finally confesses to a priest the truth of her identity and she was awarded a pension from the King of Spain as compensation for her bravery and loyalty to the Spanish crown. She was blessed by the Pope in Rome and given permission to continue dressing as a man. Virginal she stayed until her death becoming one of the most famous heroes of her time and a folkloric legend for all times.
