About this show

The Cover of Life is an insightful and affecting play set in a time when we believed in what we were fighting for. The semi-autobiographical (and sole) work of Louisiana-born playwright R.T. Robinson tells the story of three young brides whose husbands--all three brothers--are shipped off to fight in WWII. When their tale reaches the attention of the editor of LIFE magazine, a female war correspondent is dispatched to their rural Louisiana home in hopes of writing a cover story on how small-town America copes with the demands and sacrifices of war. Her visit, however, ultimately reveals a much less than picture-perfect view...a snapshot of women struggling to find their personal dreams at home while the men they love fight for the dreams of their country overseas.
