About This Show

Pulitzer Prize-winning Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart) is back in the Old South with her affectionately absurd comedy about the “nature” of human nature. Ridiculous Fraud is the story of three brothers bonded by love and jealousy. The patriarch of the Clay family is in jail for an unspecified white-collar crime. Though distressing for the whole family, the situation is especially taxing for grown sons Andrew, Kap and Lafcad. Such behavior doesn’t suit the reputation of a once-aristocratic family like the Clays of New Orleans, especially when Lafcad has backed out of his wedding and someone is going to have to pay off the jilted bride’s parents.

A free post show discussion with cast members led by the SCR Literary Department follows the performances on Wednesday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 31.
An ASL-interpreted performance for the deaf community is scheduled for Saturday, November 18 at 2:30 PM.
