About This Show

Written and directed by Wayne Rawley, Money & Run: An Action Adventure Serial for the Stage is a high-octane homage to early ’80s TV. Rawley’s gift for “over-the-top metaphor and full-throttle plotting” gives this affectionate spoof steady hilarity and transforms the TV action-adventure genre into a gut busting, butt-rockin’, late-night theatre romp.

Episode 1, “Money, Take Run,” introduces Robby Jean Marshall (a.k.a. Money) and Jimmy Jake McAllister (a.k.a. Run), two outlaws from the wrong side of the tracks who, among the outrageous denizens of down-home Cudrup County, are destined for each other. It’s love at first shot as the two meet over a bottle of Ricardo Montalban brand Tequila while trying to rob the same Big Momma Bob’s Premium Liquor and Wine Emporium.

Their love grows as local drunk and social misfit O.T. helps them run for their lives through an underground network of abandoned military catacombs. But Big Momma Bob has other plans for the outlaws, like a ride in the trunk of a Toyota Prius and a lifetime of white slavery. When the mysterious lawman, Jimmy Jack, arrives with a score to settle and a ghostly message from Run’s past, only Money & Run’s love for each other (and their desire to express that love carnally) can keep them together!

“Rawley has fine tuned the art of episodic comedy by creating bold, gutsy characters… The writing is as tight, funny and fast as the action… Just to confirm the word of mouth: Money & Run is one of the funniest and most original bits of nonsense to be seen for a long time.”
— Seattle Weekly

“Money & Run are the kind of Bonnie and Clyde meet Bo and Daisy Duke criminals you wish really existed!”
— The Oakland Tribune
