Highest Heaven, The

Part of the Mark Taper P.L.A.Y. and Young Audiences program. Set during the Great Depression, THE HIGHEST HEAVEN follows a 12-year-old Mexican-American boy who becomes separated from his family as they are deported from the United States. He jouneys through Mexico, searching for his mother. For a time, his life parallels the lives of thousands of butterflies who migrate each year to Mexico where they die, leaving their offspring to fly back to the U.S. on their own.
