About This Show

Reprise! Broadway’s Best presents the first show of its acclaimed Marvelous Musical Monday series, the moving and poetic Elegies: A Song Cycle, with music and lyrics by William Finn (Falsettos, A New Brain, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) musical direction by Steven Smith and direction by David Lee (Company, Assassins). Elegies stars Tony Nominees Malcolm Gets (Amour, A New Brain) and Liz Callaway (Baby, Merrily We Roll Along), Tony Award-winner Randy Graff (City of Angels, A Class Act), Amick Byram (Les Miserables, Sunset Blvd.) and Daniel Tatar (Pasadena Playhouse’s The Last Five Years).

Elegies: A Song Cycle is an extraordinary and uplifting evening of moving and witty songs that serve as musical love letters, remembering the lives of those we’ve lost with joy and light, and serving as an affirmation of every moment. It is a heartfelt celebration. In songs about people who have departed this world, Finn writes about what made these people special, and illustrates why, as one of his songs puts it, “life has infinite joys.”
