Cardboard Capital
$15.00 - $30.00
A pair of homeless people, one deaf and the other pregnant and illegal, are desperate and need a place to work in an upside down economy. They find work in a warehouse that preys on people like them and they realize that the boxes they pack have more worth than the vagabonds who pack them. Their only hope might be to form community with people who don’t even have a common language. Inspired by John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, Cardboard Capital takes a look at todays problems of immigration, commercialization, unionization and plight of the blue collar worker in today’s megaconglomerations of Walmart-esk, Amazonian super stores. It goes to the heart of what is Family and Community in todays virtual world.
