About This Show

HURRY! FINAL WEEKEND!! THE SHOW CLOSES THIS SUNDAY!

Morgan Productions (ADA-nominated Dinner With Friends) presents another intimate evening of theater, this time addressing today’s hyper-competitive world of parenting. In this dark comedy by Eric Coble, Joshua and Genevra Bradley are next in line on the waiting list to get their three-year-old son, Mac, into the top preschool, “Bright Ideas Early Childhood Development Academy.” If accepted, statistics prove that Mac is destined to go on to Harvard, Yale or Dartmouth…so the parents will stop at nothing to ensure their child a bright future. With numerous references to Macbeth, this topical comedy begs the question, “How far would you go for your toddler’s education?” Directed by the critically acclaimed Scott Cummins (Mr. Kolpert, Killer Joe).

What the critics are saying:

“Hilarious… Whether or not you’re a parent, anyone with a funny bone is bound to get a lot of kicks from this fast-paced and bitingly satirical comedy.” — Studio City Sun

“Director Scott Cummins and this engagingly talented quintet of actors take us on a twisted journey …this small but mighty company has created theatrical magic.” — BackStage West

“A hopscotch that is often funny and uncomfortably scary. Stephanie Childers is fantastic as the hauntingly realistic devoted mother… David Morgan is great… charmingly scary as the father.” — Metro LA

“Well-Executed… Coble’s script…moves with the rapid pace of a 3-camera sitcom under Scott Cummins’ deft direction” — Entertainment Today

“Incredibly Entertaining… Bright Ideas sparkles with outstanding acting, directing and production work…excellent choreography and superb timing by the entire cast.” — Tolucan Times

“Much of playwright Eric Coble’s satire is on the mark; under Scott Cummins’ direction, the five-person ensemble scores many ironic and telling moments” — LA Weekly
