About This Show

Making its Los Angeles Premiere, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s The Mystery Plays features two separate one-acts involving the mysteries of death, the afterlife, religion, faith and the power of forgiveness.

With supernatural overtones, The Filmmaker’s Mystery deals with a train wreck in which all have perished.

The second play, Ghost Children, is an eerie tale about a successful attorney on the East Coast who travels to Oregon to make peace with her brother, currently in prison for the murder of their parents.

The playwright uses metaphysical meanings in both plays with dialogue one might find in the current comic book craze – understandable, since Aguirre-Sacasa writes for the monthly edition of Marvel Comics’ “The Fantastic Four.”

The Mystery Plays performs in repertory with Modern Orthodox.
