Bay Street Theatre presents a special Benefit Concert Reading of Simeon’s Gift, narrated by Julie Andrews.
The first event in Bay Street Theatre’s Family Theatre Initiative, Simeon’s Gift is an original new musical for family audiences adapted from the best-selling book by Julie Andrews Edwards and Emma Walton Hamilton. Immediately following the concert there will be a talkback with the authors.
The show features music by Ian Fraser (Academy Award for the score of the film Scrooge) and lyrics by acclaimed songwriter John Bucchino. Marcia Milgrom Dodge directs. The show will receive a full production at Bay Street this Thanksgiving weekend followed by a subsequent national tour.
Funds raised from the Simeon’s Gift Benefit will support Bay Street’s new Family Theatre Initiative, dedicated to producing high quality, live family entertainment that is as creative as it is entertaining, and as authentic as it is relevant.
