A New Way to Please You

About the Show

Written in 1632 by Thomas Middleton and William Rowley, A New Way to Please You is a black comedy in which a law is passed stating that every man of eighty years and every woman at sixty should be ‘put down’ as they no longer have a use to society. Of course, certain people find this enforced slaughter slightly objectionable and cross-generational fireworks ensue.

Sean Holmes directs this black comedy from Middleton, Rowley and Massinger. Holmes, who is Associate Director with Oxford Stage Company, has previously directed Richard III, Measure For Measure, and The Roman Actor for the RSC.
