At least once each year, Theatre West produces a festival of new works that provides audiences with the chance to see interesting work at a bargain ticket price. The West Fest is among Theatre West's most enduringly popular attractions and biggest ticket-sellers. Week 1: June 20-22 Priorities Written by Roy Battocchio Lee Meriwether plays a mature actress struggling with the rat race of auditions when she is tapped for a role by the most famous movie director in the world. Crass Reunion Written by Roy Battocchio Two guys who went to the same high school independently arrive to stick up a convenience store where the guy in charge of things is yet another former classmate. Encore for Romance Written by Laura Campbell An aging lady and gent are obviously attracted to each other and won't let old age get in their way. Imagining America Written by Howard Korder The writer of Search and Destroy imagines the ultimate showbiz pitch meeting, so crazy it could actually be real. Week 2: July 27-29 Thaw Written and directed by Heather Chapman An apparently crippled woman finds a way to restored mobility. A Dose of Family Written by Matthew Hoffman There's a pill made for every human condition, apparently. But the pills won't solve a young woman's ultimate problem. The Paradigm Written and directed by Drew Katzman A comedy that asks fundamental questions: Is God a woman? Should we bomb the heck out of those jerks over there? Do we really subconsciously want to return to the womb? Over the Rainbow Written and directed by Drew Katzman Featuring Jeanine Anderson and Seemah Wilder A woman is enlisted by her aging mother to assist in the construction of an explosive device. But something distracts her.
