Premiered at the Queen’s Theatre in London, this was the 28-year-old Handel at his most enthralling. All roles are sung by sopranos, mezzo-sopranos or counter-tenors. Teseo has been staged only once in the U.S. in 1985.

THE CONDUCTOR:
Early music expert Christian Curnyn returns for the final chapter of COT’s Medea trilogy. In 2010, Curnyn conducted the COT production of Giasone, which Chicago critics called “musically luscious” and “spellbinding”.
