Los Desaparecidos – The Vanished is a world premiere romantic drama by Chicago playwright Barbara Lhota, directed and choreographed by fight master David Woolley, S.A.F.D., which showcases fights with rapiers, short swords and shields, knives and daggers, as well as unarmed. Set in 16th-century Spain, Los Desaparecidos explores the impact of family ties, societal pressures, and unexpected love on the lives of two sisters – Diana Garcia Diaz and Isabel Garcia Reyes de la Barrera. The production includes clandestine trysts, plots and counterplots, blackmail – and lots of swordplay in the Babes’ first production to feature a mixed-gender cast.
