New York City
Bailiwick Repertory remounts Robert Chesley’s Jerker, directed by Madrid St. Angelo to kick off the 25th Anniversary of the Landmark Pride Series.
Written in 1985, Jerker combined ribald sexuality and searing romanticism by way of a Vietnam vet and a person with AIDS. What begins as a series of late night phone sex conversatons soon turns into an expose of the human heart and two men’s need for one another, friendship and love in light of an emerging killer virus. Performed in a deconstruction of the text; Jerker will be delivered in it’s entirety and exactly as written by Mr. Chesley.
