About This Show

Into the Uncanny Valley is a science fiction drama in the spirit of Isaac Asimov and Philip K. Dick told through puppetry and acting. The story takes place in the near future following a massive biological/technological catastrophe caused by a failure in the neural internet that directly connects to consumer’s brains. Billions are left dead or comatose. Into the Uncanny Valley is the story of Alanna, a young woman who attempts to resurrect her sister Majel’s memories by implanting them into an android replica. The android indeed comes to life, but as a robotic infant who has all of Majel’s memory, but exhibits neither human impulses nor human experience. For all of her uncanny similarities to the vegetative sister, the robot falls woefully short of replacing her human template. Meanwhile, Alanna is faced with the responsibility of having created a living creature that only serves as reminder, rather than a comfort, for that which was lost.
