Amid the revelry of the holiday season, Ebenezer Scrooge will realize that while he can’t change the past, he can alter his future. Presented by StageWorks, the student production of A Christmas Carol is an adaptation by William J. Norris, who originated the role of Scrooge for the Goodman Theatre, and is directed by Amelia Barrett. For Barrett, the story’s timeless appeal comes from its ability to explore the notion of seeing the future and righting the wrongs of the past. While the characters struggle with their fears and obligations, they also hold onto hope and each other for strength and comfort.
