The Critically-Acclaimed off-Broadway hit Potted Potter makes its Texas premiere in Houston starting Tuesday November 26 and runs through December 1 at the Wortham Center Cullen Theater.
Written and created by former BBC Television hosts Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner and starring Delme Thomas and James Percy, the play takes on the ultimate challenge of condensing, or "potting," all seven Harry Potter books into 70 madcap minutes, aided only by multiple costume changes, brilliant songs, ridiculous props and a generous helping of Hogwarts magic.
The show also invites audiences to participate in a game of Quidditch, according to Clarkson and Turner's unique set of rules.
New York Times praises the show as "A GODSEND — THE HARRY POTTER SERIES IN A BREATHLESS AND HILARIOUS 70 MINUTES", and the Associated Press proclaims the show a "Hit!". The Daily Telegraph in London calls Potted Potter "A fabulously funny parody...it will tickle the funny bone of every age group." In addition to being a critic's pick by the New York Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Daily Herald, New York Magazine and Time Out London, the show received the prestigious 2012 Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment & Family Show, playing to sold out houses worldwide.
Potted Potter is perfect for ages six to Dumbledore (who is very old indeed).
