Summerfest
$18.00 Orchestra; 414.00 General; 412.00 Standing room
Designed to link the artistic and cultural traditions of the world with those of Florida, Summerfest, presented by the Symphony of the Americas, is the longest music festival event to take place in Florida, and is one of the top cultural projects to be funded by the State of Florida’s Division of Cultural Affairs International Cultural Exchange Grant Program. As a true cultural exchange, it involves both European and American musicians in joint performance for Florida citizens, as well as the visiting orchestra’s home country, and throughout the US, Central and South America. Summerfest 2008 presented by American Airlines, marks the 17th anniversary of the Festival.
This summer, Czech Moravian Virtuosi chamber orchestra of Prague will be in residence. Summerfest in the United States begins in July with this combined ensemble throughout the State of Florida, with outdoor beach, educational, and gala performances, with selected concerts by special invitation at the US State Department and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
