About This Show

A company of 50 dancers brings the fairy tale kingdom of The Sleeping Beauty to life replete with a king and queen, a beautiful princess and a heroic prince, good and evil fairies, Puss ‘n Boots, Bluebeard, Goldilocks and a bear, Little Red Riding Hood and a wolf, and many other characters. The Sleeping Beauty is the crowning jewel of Russian choreographer Marius Petipa’s career. Former Bolshoi principal dancer Sergei Radchanko as the prince leads the highly regarded Moscow Festival Ballet in this full-length work, grandly enhanced by Tchaikovsky’s lush score and a sumptuous theatrical setting. The themes of a young girl’s coming of age and the triumph of good over evil are developed dramatically and musically during the ballet.
