About This Show

A witty spoof of the romantic musical comedies redolent of old Broadway and the Hollywood era of Busby Berkley. There’s a sunny ingenue anxious to be a star, her adoring sailor, a mean leading lady, a captain called Courageous, a wise cracking chorine and her beau called Lucky–and every one gets married! Book and lyrics are by George Haimsohn and Robin Miller, with music by Jim Wise. The musical staging in every song is in homage to everything 1930’s–Fred Astaire’s and Ginger Rogers’ shadow dances, a beguine, a twirling umbrella number, and a zippy score.
