About This Show

Best-selling author and host of the immensely popular radio show A Prairie Home Companion, Garrison Keillor has been bringing tales of Lake Wobegon to America since 1974, developing a trademark blend of dry humor, charm, and genuine sincerity that draws more than 3 million public radio listeners every week. Keillor shares hilarious anecdotes about growing up in the American Midwest, the aging process — including late-life fatherhood — and other topics in a captivating evening of entertainment.

In addition to his radio show, Keillor sings with the Hopeful Gospel Quartet — with engagements at Wolf Trap, Carnegie Hall, and other major concert halls — and has also performed with many orchestras, including the Chicago, Milwaukee, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Minnesota, Dallas, and National symphonies with long-time collaborator Philip Brunelle. In 2006, Keillor added movie actor to his growing list of credits, playing a character very similar to himself in the Robert Altman film A Prairie Home Companion, based loosely on the behind-the-scenes operation of Keillor’s iconic show.
