About This Show

Irma P. Hall stars in S.M. Shephard-Massat’s prize-winning civil rights drama Waiting To Be Invited. This loving tribute to the playwright’s grandmother
and the thousands of unheralded braveries that fueled the U.S. civil rights movement is set in 1960s Atlanta. Massat tells the story of Miss Odessa (Irma P. Hall) and her three co-workers from a local doll factory as they travel to a whites-only lunch counter, determined to test the Supreme Court ban on segregated eating establishments.
