About This Show

In this well-known musical, The Leading Player tells us the tongue-in-cheek story of Pippin, son of the 8th-Century King Charlemagne. Pippin is on a quest to find his true calling in life. He goes through war, love, politics, and other pursuits before settling down with Catherine and her son. Pippin has gone into the records as one of the longest-running musicals in Broadway history. The music and lyrics are by Stephen Schwartz, the book by Roger O. Hirson.
