Mantuary, a world premiere by New Orleans playwright R.J. Tsarov, takes a dark, surreal look at relationships and gender differences. A woman trapped in her own terrifying world struggles to find a ray of hope.

Hot Water, a “whizbang” by Cornell Woolrich, is a fun romp through the desert when Fay North, a 1940’s aging B-movie star, ventures south of the border to the casino with her gumshoe bodyguard and chauffeur in the hopes of ending her losing streak.

Last year at the RhinoFest, Sweetback offered a fascinating and well-received duo of plays adapted from works by Flannery O’Connor and Daphne duMaurier. This year’s offering promises to be an equally offbeat pairing.
